AIR FORCE JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS

Welcome to Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, or otherwise known as AFJROTC or ROTC at Vista High School. ROTC is composed of our three core values: Integrity first, Service before self, and Excellence in all we do. Our squadron has several designations.  With the Air Force, we have been designated as CA-953.  The “CA” is for California.  The “953” represents the year of our establishment (1995) and the sequence of the schools is the last number (we were the third school established that year with AFJROTC).

We have several teams here at Vista High School AFJROTC; Color guard, Rifle Team, R.N.C. (Riverside National Cemetery) and Flag Detail. Our teams make an impact on the community and our school by posting colors at local meetings, doing performances at other schools, putting up flags at local businesses and more. Being on a team helps our cadets to build courage and character and also helps them learn skills like flag folding and ceremonial duties.
