“Freshmen entering Vista High School when classes start next month will find an unconventional campus with a new personalized learning system, a focus on sustainability and an approach that assigns incoming students into one of six “houses.”
Readers of the Harry Potter fantasy series may immediately conjure up thoughts of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizarding, where a “sorting hat” divides students into magical houses based on their personality traits. At Vista High, however, students will be assigned based on their elective choices, said Principal Anthony Barela.
